The Red Thorn Tree is an extremely hardy drought resistant Acacia. It is grown extensively in Zimbabwe, the Northern parts of South Africa as well as in some parts of KZN. It does very well without tending and thrives in the dryer Low-veld areas. Because of its hardiness and quick growing abilities it makes a very good bonsai specimen.
